Maintaining Viable Urban Forests
Rapid urbanization is putting increasing pressure on the sustainability of the trees and forests in North Carolina communities. Urban forests are the natural backyards for many communities and serve as society's connection to nature and improve our quality of life. It is critical to promote, conserve, and connect the trees in our communities through proactive management, strategic green infrastructure planning, proper regulations.
